A TEENAGER who admitted sexually assaulting a girl has been given a suspended prison sentence.

Dylan Ram, 18, carried out the attack on the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on October 28, Burnley Crown Court was told.

Ram, who lives in Hyndburn, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Judge Beverley Lunt said: “You have shown genuine remorse and contrition.

“You would be an extraordinarily vulnerable man if I was to send you to prison.”

Ram, who has worked as an agency steward in the past, was sentenced to 12 months in a young offenders’ institution, suspended for two years.

He was also made subject of a two-year sexual harm prevention order, limiting his contact with girls under the age of 16, and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.
