FREIFIGHTERS have dealt with a blaze on the roof of a three-storey supermarket building.
Two crews from Chorley responded after reports of a fire at the Booths store on New Market Street in Chorley town centre at around 8.30pm on Monday.
A fire service spokesman, said: "A gas heater installation on the roof of a three-storey building in Chorley was on fire.
"Two fire engines and crews from Chorley and an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) and support engine and crew from Preston responded, though the ALP was not required other than as a back-up resource.
"Firefighters extinguished the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to confirm there were no smouldering residues left burning.
"There were no casualties."
Later in the evening Booths confirmed that the incident had not affected their operations and they would be opening as expected today (Tuesday).
Booths tweeted: "All staff and customers are safe after a small fire, thanks for their cooperation.
"Open at 8am as usual.”
