A striking new sculpture by a Preston artist is being unveiled in Salford today, as part of The Irwell Sculpture Trail.
Artist Charles Hadcock, 41, one of the founding members of Watermarks, an office and studio space for artists and designers in Preston, will have his work, Adagio, displayed on a 30-mile footpath stretching from Salford Quays up to the Pennines above Bacup.
The piece is made out of 16 tonnes of cast iron and is tall enough to walk under, standing at an impressive 3.5 metres high and six metres long.
The sculpture, which took two years to make will become one of 28 environmental art pieces on the multi-million pound trail.
