A BURNLEY schoolgirl had her dream come true last night when she got to dance with international superstar Justin Bieber.

Tegan Williams, from Burnley, was one of just four youngsters to be picked out of hundreds of thousands to join the singer on stage as part of his UK Purpose tour.

The 11-year-old Unity College pupil travelled to Glasgow with her family on Saturday ready for the performance in front of thousands at the Hydro Centre.

She got to showcase some of her own dance moves as well as some she had learnt as part of a special routine during the song Children.

Tegan, who has been dancing since she was two-years-old, entered a competition organised as part of the tour which invited youngsters to learn a routine and send a video in of them doing it.

Dance teacher Lorna Digger, who sent in the video and helped Tegan with the choreography, said she thought they were too late to enter.

“Justin posted a dance for them to learn and upload. The entries were meant to be in in March, but I got a message from another dance teacher who said there was still time to do it.

“Last Sunday Tegan got out of her pyjamas, learnt the routine within half an hour then we uploaded it.

“On Wednesday we had a phone call saying she had been picked from hundreds of thousands.

“I couldn’t believe it. I was running around screaming.

“She is a huge fan. She still can’t get over it.”

Although feeling the nerves, Tegan is used to dancing in front of crowds having performed in competitions as part of Lorna’s dance school Energize in Burnley.

“She is a brilliant little performer,” Lorna added.

Dad Gareth Williams, who spent nearly £1,000 on tickets for the family, said it was a ‘momentous moment’. He said: “This is her dream come true and the proudest moment ever for me and her family.”

“She has been dancing since she was two-years-old, so it is great to see it all pay off.

“Huge thanks and the greatest respect goes to her dance teacher that not only advised in this competition, but has made her into the exceptional and confident dancer she is today.”
