AN early morning row saw hundreds of pounds of damage caused to a Blackburn takeaway.

Police were called to the incident in Darwen Street which saw several windows of the Oasis takeaway smashed and furniture thrown over the counter.

Two groups are believed to have been involved in the violence.

Officers said four people have been either been arrested or charged with various offences, including drink-driving, criminal damage, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

A fifth person is being hunted in connection with the incident.

A video of the aftermath of the incident around 1am on Wednesday has been shared on social media and received hundreds of views.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 1.05am on Wednesday to reports of a disturbance on Darwen Street, Blackburn.

“Officers attended and found there had been an altercation on the street between two groups, resulting in several windows being smashed at a fast food premises.

“Several of the offenders attempted to make off from the scene but were stopped in the vicinity.

“Stuart Donnelly, 33, of Redlam, Blackburn, has been charged with criminal damage, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

“Laura Stewart, 26, of Foxfields Close, Accrington, has been charged with using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence.

“Leanne Bancroft, 26, of Foxfields Close, Accrington, has been charged with drink-driving.

“A 22-year-old woman from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been released on police bail until November 3.

“A fifth person is being sought by police and enquiries are ongoing.”
