A 47-YEAR-OLD man who went to his ex-partner’s home in a drunken state made threats against her and her sister.
Blackburn magistrates heard Thomas Francis McErlane was hammering on the door and shouting abuse and the two women and two children who were also in the house were ‘terrified’.

McErlane, of Darwen Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour towards Angeline Haggan and Anne-Marie Sedgewick.
He was sentenced to 16 weeks prison, suspended for 12 months, told to pay £100 compensation and £200 costs.
He was also made subject to a restraining for two years which prohibits him from having any contact with Miss Haggan or her sister.
Richard Prew, defending, said: “Things were said to him and he accepts he lost his temper. There was no intention of carrying out the threats he made.”
