A POLICE officer has been sacked for leaking details of police incidents.

PC Jayson Lobo was dismissed without notice after he was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour in five areas.

There were nine allegations made against PC Lobo relating to sending electronic communications to third parties which contained details and/or images of police incidents and commentary on those incidents.

Lancashire Police chief constable Steve Finnigan found the nine allegations proven and that the breaches amounted to gross misconduct following a special case hearing held in Leyland.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "On August 25 and 26 a Special Case hearing was held at the Best Western Hotel, Leyland in respect of PC 1129 Jayson Lobo.

"The chief constable, Mr Finnigan, found each of the nine allegations against PC Lobo proven and in breach of the Standards of professional behaviour in the areas of honesty and integrity, authority, respect and courtesy, duties and responsibilities, confidentiality and discreditable conduct.

"The allegations related to PC Lobo sending electronic communications to third parties which contained details and/or images of police incidents and commentary on those incidents.

"Mr Finnigan found that the breaches amounted to gross misconduct and PC Lobo was dismissed without notice."

Lobo, 46, also faces a separate criminal trial at Liverpool Crown Court over 17 allegations of voyeurism committed against eight women between December 2011 and May 2015.

Before his arrest and subsequent suspension he worked as a response officer in Preston and also had stints in Burnley, Colne and Haslingden.

He is a former 800 metres runner representing England at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and competed for Great Britain at the 1999 World Championships in Seville, Spain.
