A 24-YEAR-OLD man under a court order for child pornography offences breached it by being in possession of technological devices.

Blackburn magistrates heard Qasim Anwar claimed he used his devices to look at gay porn but had not wanted his family or friends to find out. But he denied viewing child pictures.

Anwar, of Gorse Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to two charges of breaching the order. He was committed on bail to be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on October 17.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police on a compliance visit found a mobile phone on charge and a storage disc next to it. At first Anwar denied any breach of his order but then admitted looking at pornography on a second web browser on the mobile and then deleting the history.

Paul Huxley, defending, said Anwar had told police in interview that he had been looking at gay porn sites. He said: “He is adamant there was nothing child related.”
