One of the stars will be Neil Fingleton who played the imposing figure of Mag the Mighty in the recent series of HBO series, and the King Fisher alongside Peter Capaldi in Doctor Who.

The other confirmed guest is Dave Prowse who played the iconic film villain Darth Vader in the original Stars Wars films, as well as having roles in A Clockwork Orange and the Horror of Frankenstein.

Leading up to the event more guests will be revealed every Friday at 7.30pm.

Paul Dunn, who organised the event with Darren Wildman and Neil Livesey, said: “We’ve been running events like this at Preston Guild Hall and other venue for years and we thought it would be a good idea to bring Comic Con to Blackburn.

“It’s never had one before and I think it’s a great opportunity for everyone to be themselves and enjoy a day filled with lots to do.

“We’re looking to have eight to 10 movie and comic buffs there which will be revealed in due course, and more than 50 stalls with plenty of movie props and memorabilia for people to buy.

“If you’ve never been to a Comic Con event before come down to King George’s Hall in November and have a great time.”

Cllr Suleman Khonat, who represents Shear Brow, said: “I think it is fantastic that Comic Con will be coming to Blackburn for the first time and it just goes to show that people are putting Blackburn back on the map.

“I wish the organisers all the best in the future and I hope the event is a big success and returns annually.”
