This will allow the leading entertainment venues to control till points, computers and other devices from anywhere in the country, offering an effective back-up system if technical difficulties occur at any site.

Cllr Lubna Khan for the Bank Hall ward where the company is based, believes that the growth of the business can only bring positives to the area.

She said: “It is very good news for Burnley, it can put us on the map and it can hopefully help provide more jobs for the area.

“We want to be a premier town now so it’s really, really great for us. Hopefully this can be the start of something great.”

Cirrus was hand-picked by SMG Europe for its industry expertise and in-depth knowledge and is also responsible for operating a support system to maintain the efficient running of the infrastructures.

Scott Magee, managing director of Cirrus, said: “SMG venues play host to some of the biggest stars in showbiz with concerts and events that attract thousands of people.

“I’m incredibly pleased with the deal. SMG is a fantastic customer to partner with.

“SMG needed a robust and fault tolerant infrastructure with first-class support and that’s exactly what Cirrus can provide.”

The Cloud, IT and communications company will build and configure the new servers at venues including the Manchester Arena, the Leeds First Direct Arena, Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena and the York Barbican.

Cirrus has modelled its business on providing complete connectivity and telephone packages, IT and maintenance support.

Mr Magee, 40, who has 18 years’ experience in IT, added: “Customer service is at the heart of everything we do.

“If our clients are happy with us, they are more likely to refer and recommend us to other businesses and we will continue to grow.”

Cirrus, founded in 2013, is expected to start work on the project later this month.

Cirrus IT Services (UK) Limited is a private company founded in 2013 and registered in England and Wales based in Turf Moor Business Hub.
