A BUSINESS in Accrington has submitted plans to Hyndburn Council to open up a takeaway.

Monte Cristo, which is based in Henry Street, is planning to open its expansion, Monte Cristo Express, in Baxenden.

The new site would be at the former Bargain Booze on 145 Manchester Road.

Food that could be bought at the proposed takeaway would include the current Italian cuisine as seen on the restaurant menu like pizzas and pastas.

Cllr Terry Hurn, who represents the Baxenden ward, said: “It is always good news when a local business is doing well and has plans to expand in the local area.

“As the plans are still up for approval there is no guarantee that it will get permission for certain but it would be nice to see the takeaway open.

“I’ve been to the Monte Cristo Restaurant before and the food is very nice, I was impressed.”
