A LEARNER motorcyclist suffered injuries to his face and mouth after being knocked off his bike last night.

The air ambulance landed at the scene of the accident close to the Duke of Wellington pub in Grane Road, Haslingden.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said they were called just after 5pm by the ambulance service after a blue Audi A4 collided with a 17-year-old boy on a 125CC Suzuki motorbike.

He said: “The teenager suffered minor injuries, but that included a cut to the face and damage to his teeth.

“He was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital where he was kept overnight for observation and should be released today.”

The condition of the male Audi driver was unknown.

The M65 entrance to Grane Road was closed while accident investigations were carried out by officers and the teenager was attended to causing tailbacks along Haslinden Road in Blackburn.

The road reopened at around 7.45pm
