And when she came home to find he had defied her instructions and had a friend in the house she ordered him to leave.

Kay, 18, of Lowergate, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to damaging a window belonging to Helen Jackson. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said after leaving the house on his mother’s orders Kay returned and started banging on the doors and demanding to be let in. He threatened to smash the windows.

In interview he admitted picking up a piece of Bart’s head and throwing it through the window.

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client had gone back the following day and made good the damage.

His mother had left a note saying he wasn’t to have anyone round and she was angry when she came home and found him and a friend watching TV.

He was ordered out and when he returned to collect some money and possessions was refused entry “He was asking to be allowed in to collect some of his property but his mum refused,” said Mr Taylor. “He accepts that he lost his temper. The head of the Bart Simpson statue had previously been knocked off by some children playing football and he picked it up and used it to smash the window.”

He said Kay, who works for a window company, had repaired the damage the next morning. He was now living away but was reconciled with his mum.
