A MAN has suffered a suspected fractured skull after allegedly jumping from a moving car in Brierfield.

The 23-year-old is said to be in a serious condition in hospital following the incident in Halifax Road.

Police were called to reports that a man had jumped out of a white Vauxhall Corsa at around 12.05am on Sunday.

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance where his condition was described as ‘serious’ by police.

A police spokesman said there were no suggestions of any criminality.

A road closure was put in place whilst the man was treated and accident investigation work was carried out. Halifax Road was re-opened by 1.25am.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to reports that a man had leapt from a moving vehicle in Halifax Road, Brierfield.

“The 23-year-old man had been with his friends in a white Vauxhall Corsa when he is believed to have jumped. He was conscious and breathing at the scene.

“We believe he has jumped of his own accord and there is no suggestion of any criminality.

“The man has been taken by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital with a suspected fractured skull.

“He injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

“A road closure was put in place but was re-open by 1.25am.”
