AN EAST Lancashire couple have unveiled their amazing new garden after yelling SOS to a BBC TV makeover show.

Kathryn and Nic Webster called for the help of Garden Rescue after realising they didn't have the green-fingered skills required to redesign their dream garden.

In just two days Charlie Dimmock and Chelsea Flower Show winning designers Harry and David Rich transformed the space into the dream the couple were hoping for.

Mrs and Mrs Webster moved into their house in Blackburn's Brownhill area in October, but after discovering they were expecting their first child, there was no time to get started on transforming the garden.

The pair, of Pleckgate Road applied for the programme, explaining what they wanted and why they couldn't manage to get it done, and they were one in 20 gardens to be featured in the new series.

Mrs Webster, 33, a graphic designer, said the new garden looks 'incredible' and she can't wait for the new baby to experience it.

She said: "The garden was a bit of a mess when we moved in, there was a pond that didn't work and everything was just a bit mixed up.

"We had a plan we were going to do something with it but then found out we were expecting in February so we just thought we weren't going to get it done for years.

"So we applied to the show and got to have a say in what we wanted, which made it a little bit different to the other programme Charlie Dimmock was in called Ground Force.

"The garden now looks incredible. I can't believe they got it done so fast."

In contrast to Ground Force, the homeowners in each programme will create a real-world budget that the gardeners must stick to.

Charlie and the Rich brothers will each create a garden and then the owner will choose which one they would like built.

In the Webster's case their garden has a Japanese theme with a teahouse and a zen space reminding the couple of their trips to the country.

Mrs Webster's younger brother Edward Speak, who was inspired to take up gardening by the Ground Force team when he was little, helped to build the fence in the garden.

Mrs Webster said: "It’s nice that it’s come full circle a bit for him.

"I keep telling him they will hire him for the next series if there is one."

The show will be aired today at 3.25pm on BBC One.
