SCORES of people "Walked with an Angel" on Saturday in memory of a young Darwen woman who took her own life.
The annual event saw around 40 people walk 10 miles from Witton Park to the Mill Hill pub in Blackburn in a bid to raise awareness of suicide and encourage those who are contemplating taking their own life to seek help.
It was organised by Tony Harrison, 59, whose daughter Vicky took her own life in 2010 at the age of 21 after struggling to find a job.
The group was joined by Coronation Street actor Alex Bain who plays Simon Barlow and 'local celebrities' Tina and Delilah, portrayed by Tom Blackburn and Jamie Lynch who complete the walk every year.
As well as raising awareness, the walk raises cash for charity PAPYRUS which works to prevent young people cutting their lives short.
Mr Harrison said: "It went very well. We are really pleased, although the weather was not as good as we could have hoped.
"We have had a good day and some great publicity. It is getting the message out there which is brilliant.
"The pub put on some food on for us as well which was lovely gesture."
