OWEN Coyle will be looking to give each of his first team squad a full 90-minute run-out as the club faces two friendlies in 24 hours this weekend.

That is likely to mean a few youngsters also get the chance to impress the manager as he splits his resources between Ewood Park and Meadow Lane.

Rovers entertain Girona FC tomorrow (3pm), the Spanish second division side providing the opposition for the only pre-season fixture on home soil before Norwich City arrive for the Championship opener next weekend.

Coyle’s men then travel to Nottingham to face John Sheridan’s Magpies on Sunday (3pm).

Most of the first team played in the behind-closed-doors 1-0 win over Accrington on Tuesday and the manager is likely to spread the players he sees as starters against the Canaries across the two weekend fixtures.

That will mean more minutes for Euro 2016 pair Shane Duffy and Corry Evans, as well as Craig Conway, who has been struggling with a thigh strain, and youngster Connor Mahoney, who missed the trip to Bloomfield Road through injury.

Fringe players such as Scott Wharton, Jack Doyle, John O’Sullivan and Ryan Nyambe should also be involved.

Following last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Blackpool, Coyle said: “We’ve done a lot of physical fitness, it’s now adding that speed of thought and that match sharpness, in terms of movement and speed of the pass.

“That’s something we’ll look to work on to make sure that, come the start of the season, match sharpness is there.

“I think we’ve seen a lot of good attitudes (at Blackpool). Second half, with all due to respect, was night and day. It was such a dominant performance.

“Even then, we’re still to get our strongest team I would suggest. So, all in all, they’re working hard.

“We’ve got to physically get them ready and there was a lot of good things, but there are things to work on and there’s no getting away from that.”

Catalan club FC Girona finished fourth in the Segunda Division last season and just missed out on promotion to La Liga after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Osasuna in the play-off final.

Notts County have enjoyed a decent pre-season, recording wins over non-league sides Rolls Royce Leisure, Carlton and Ilkeston.

They drew 0-0 with Alfreton Town and were beaten by city rivals Forest 2-1 last Saturday.

Sheridan has added seven new signings over the close season, including former Stoke City defender Carl Dickinson and Barbados striker Jonathan Forte.

Tickets for the Girona match are priced £12 for adults, £5 for over-65s and 18 to 21 year olds, while juniors (17 and under) can get in for £2.

The club will only be selling tickets in the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End Lower and the Jack Walker Stand (upper and lower tiers) for the fixture. Tickets are available at the Roverstore at Ewood Park, on 01254 372000 or online at www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers.
