Mr Qamar, who owns Mars Mini Market in Wensley Fold, was stabbed after being lured to the scene.

The 35-year-old had been delivering four packs of beer and a bottle of vodka to four white men in their 20s.

After the attack, a bleeding Mr Qamar, managed to drive himself more than two and a half miles back to his store in Johnston Street in search of help, police said.

Mr Qamar, who also had slash wounds to his face and arm, said: “I do not know how I managed to get back to the shop. I think it was just instinct. I just thought if I can get back to my shop I will be safe.

“It happened so quickly it was so unexpected. I did not realise I was being attacked. I think if I had stood there any longer I would not be here talking to you right now.

“All I can say is that these people are just pure evil. To do something like this is wrong, but over a £10-£15 order is unbelievable?

Despite suffering the serious injuries Mr Qamar was back in his shop yesterday.

He said: “I am getting flashbacks and I can’t sleep. I do have this sense that it might happen again.

“Everyone has been so supportive and kind. I have got a lot of messages from friends and I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments.

“I have had a lot of people visiting our house in the past two days.”

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the stabbing which happened shortly after 10pm on Tuesday. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses.

Det Insp Julie Cross said: “This was a shocking, targeted attack on a man simply out doing his job.

“Anyone with information can call us on 101.”
