A SERVING police officer and former UK middle distance athlete has denied committing a string of voyeurism offences against eight women.

PC Jayson Lobo, 46, is accused of 18 offences of voyeurism said to be have taken place on various dates between December 2011 and May 2015.

Lobo, an 800 metres runner, represented England at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur and competed for Great Britain at the 1999 World Championships in Seville, Spain.

The defendant is alleged to have recorded the complainants doing private acts, without their consent, and with the intention of obtaining sexual gratification.

He pleaded not guilty at Liverpool Crown Court to all 18 counts and will face trial on January 16 next year.

A pre-trial hearing was also listed for January 9 and the defendant was granted bail to that date on condition he does not contact prosecution witnesses.

Lobo, of Woodfold Park, Mellor, held a piece of paper in front of his face as he left the building and then left photographers trailing as he ran into the city centre.
