POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a collision left two men with serious injuries.

The accident happened at shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday night when a Renault Clio travelling towards Blackburn on the A6061 Riley Switch Green Road lost control near to the Royal Oak pub.

The car clipped the kerb and collided with wooden bollards and a lamppost before flipping over and crashing through a hedge, coming to rest on its roof in a field.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Blackburn, received a head injury, broken wrists and pelvis and an injury to his lower leg.

One passenger, a 20-year-old man from Bamber Bridge, suffered a broken nose and collar bone.

Both were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The road was closed for four hours for accident investigation.
