AN investigation has been launched into a fire that started outside a Blackburn home last night.
Firefighters were called to Wasdale Avenue at 10.30pm, where fence panels and conifer trees were alight.
The resident at the house had contacted the fire service on seeing the back of their garden on fire.
Martin Counsell, crew manager, said: "We attended a property whereby the fence panels and conifers were on fire.
"One fire engine was called out and there were approximately three fence panels and half a dozen conifers involved.
"There is a path that runs behind the back of the property but we do not know how it started and it is under investigation."
