A FUNDAY in support of St Helens Road Church raised more than £500 through funfair games and a scarecrow competition.
In addition to the two children’s competitions, the event also celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday.
The church’s Junior Youth Club’s ‘Queen Scarecrow’ came out on top in the scarecrow competition beating competition from nine other competitors.
Funfair games such as splat the rat and hook a duck helped raise the £500 total during the day which will go towards the general upkeep of the church.
Julie Owen, who is part of the fundraising committee who organised the event, said: “We had never done something like it before. Everyone who came enjoyed it and had a good time.”
