The youngster, of Samlesbury, was flown to Northern Ireland along with mum Katy Hill, for filming where she was given the superstar treatment including chauffeured limousines and paparazzi shots.

Cordelia beat hundreds of other hopefuls to take the role of Lyanna Stark in the sixth series of the show, which counts US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron among its millions of devoted fans worldwide.

She caught the eye of BAFTA-winning casting director Nina Gold after just one audition, even though she missed the follow-up screen test to go away on a family holiday.

Lyanna Stark has been central to the storyline in Game of Thrones even though her character was killed off before the series began. Cordelia’s portrayal of her as a young girl begins as she arrives on horseback as a flashback in the opening episode of season six.

Cordelia, a keen rider who has a horse, Ryan, said: “Appearing in the show has changed my life, especially the social side in school.

“I now have a lot more followers on Facebook and Twitter.

“It’s the world’s biggest production and since I was younger it’s always been my dream to be cast riding a horse.

“I didn’t think it would be possible but I was proved wrong. It’s been great chatting about the role and doing interviews.

“I was introduced to Peter Dinklage who plays Halfman on the show and he was very nice and gave me great acting tips.”

The youngster hopes to now be put forward for film roles.

Mum Katy said: “Cordelia’s so grounded, it was very exciting for her. She’s a nice, sweet girl and so pro-active, and this part has provided a great platform for her."

A Westholme spokesman said: “Year 8 student, Cordelia Hill made her debut in Game of Thrones as she galloped into Winterfell on a white stallion.

“Cordelia was chosen from thousands of hopefuls for the speaking part and spent three weeks during last summer filming in Belfast with all the cast.

“It was a fantastic experience and she was chauffeur driven to and from the set and flown in and out of Belfast each weekend.

Cordelia received high praise from the directors and writers who said how she was a natural actress who was not fazed by all the big name stars.
