FORMER Blackburn solicitor Nadir Suleman has pleaded guilty to a role in a £950,000 medical-invoice insurance fraud.

The 30-year-old, who used to work for Farley’s in the town, was among seven men charged in February by City of London Police in connection with the offence.

At Liverpool Crown Court on April 29, Suleman, of Clement Road, Preston, pleaded guilty along with Arif Patel, a delivery driver, of Highgate Avenue, Preston, and Nadim Iqbal, a solicitor, of Greyfriars Avenue, Preston.

The remaining four defendants pleaded not guilty and provisional trial dates have now been set for February.

They are Wasim Iqbal, a solicitor, of Manor Avenue Preston; Aadiel Salya, a solicitor, of Walton le Dale, Preston; Alex Butler, a recruitment consultant, of Parklands Drive, Preston; and Yasin Salya, a self-employed property developer, of Walton le Dale, Preston.

Aadiel Salya and Yasin Salya are due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on June 27 to make representation for the charges against them to be dismissed.

All seven men remain on bail.

Farley’s stressed in statement in February that none of their clients suffered any financial loss. adding: “We have assisted the police investigation throughout and no-one else from this firm has been implicated in any criminal behaviour.”

Sentencing of Suleman and any other defendants admitting the offence of being found guilty will take place at the conclusion of the trials.
