FUN Lovin' Criminals and Gaz Coombes have been revealed as the headline acts for this year's Ramsbottom Festival.

The three-day event to be staged at Ramsbottom Cricket Club in September will feature a strong line-up including Two-Tone pioneers The Selecter, Julian Cope, Manchester-based The Slow Readers Club and Irish traditional band Lynched.

Nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for his album Matador, former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes will headline the Saturday night of the festival.

The Sunday night headline slot will be filled by 6Music presenter Huey Morgan and his band the Fun Lovin' Criminals offering their unique blend of funk, hip hop and soul.

THe headline act for the opening Friday night of the festival has yet to be revealed but the Friday line-up will include former Teardrop Explodes frontman Julian Cope, a return to the festival for The Slow Readers Club and Loka.

The Saturday line-up includes The Selecter featuring Pauline Black and Arthur 'Gaps' Henderson best known for hits such as Three Minute Hero and On My Radio, Sam Duckworth formerly Get Cape,Wear Cape Fly, the Travelling Band, Cattle and Cane, Blackburn-based rock outfit the New York Tourists and harmony group Maia.

Sunday of the festival has a more roots theme to it with traditional Irish four-piece Lynched, Canadian Gordie McKeeman and His Rhythm Boys, Welsh outfit Rusty Shackle, Duke Special, blues rock trio Wille and the Bandits and female duo Sounds of Sirens.

The intimate festival. now in its sixth year, will also feature dedicated daytime family entertainment, beer tents offering a range of locally-produced craft beers including a specially-commissioned festival ale and a wide range of food stalls.

The festival is organised by The Met in Bury, in partnership with The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester.

A programming partnership has also been announced with Manchester based label and promotions company, Scruff of the Neck.

This year there will be a camping area close to the main festival site.
