A MAN was attacked from behind in an unprovoked assault as he walked with friends in Clitheroe.
The assault, which was allegedly carried out by a man who is believed to have been drunk, happened in Whalley Road on Tuesday evening.

PC Tony Walsh said: “The victim was walking with friends when he was assaulted from the rear by a male who had just walked past in the opposite direction.
“The offender appeared to be drunk. The man was arrested a short time later after a further incident involving him.”
Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101, quoting crime number EG1602434.
