JOSH Windass and Terry Gornell are ready to hand Stanley a fitness boost and return to the squad over the Easter weekend.

Rangers-bound forward Windass has played only once this calendar year after suffering a groin injury in the 3-2 win at Mansfield on January 2.

But after returning to full training with the first team on Wednesday, following extensive rehab, Windass is ready for a recall. Gornell is also hopeful of being involved for the first time since mid-February.

“I think they’ll be available for selection this weekend,” said Coleman, who expects to be without full back Adam Buxton and midfielder Matt Crooks until at least next week.

But, after signing two attacking players on loan, the Reds boss is expecting defensive numbers to soon be swelled by having Dean Winnard available for the first time since November, following a chest muscle problem.

“Dean Winnard is coming back and we’re not that bad in defence (for numbers),” said Coleman.

“It might have been nice to bring another one in (on loan) but it’s difficult to bring in a defender to sit because defenders only really come on when someone gets injured, whereas you can bring a forward in to sit for a bit and they can come on and make an impact."

“It was something we thought about but we decided to go with what we’ve got.”
