POLICE officers are searching for a motorist after a cyclist was left with a broken ankle following a hit-and-run.
The cyclist was travelling towards Nelson along Burnley Road, Colne, and was initially hit by the wing wirror of the car at around 11am on Wednesday, March 9.

He fell from the bike and the car ran over his ankle. The driver failed to stop.
The cyclist was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he needed surgery to have his ankle pinned.
PC Wayne Curness, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist was left with a serious injury which required painful surgery.
“The driver failed to stop at the scene and we would now urge anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the collision, to contact us.
“We would also urge the driver of the car to come forward to help us piece together what happened.”
The car is described as a silver-coloured Volkswagen Passat. Its registration contained the numbers ‘04’.
