A RESTAURANT in Ramsbottom has been placed under review after police uncovered a suspected cannabis farm in the basement.
Police have confirmed that they have applied to Bury Council for a licensing review concerning Bellini, in Bolton Street.
And the grounds for the review are said to be that cannabis was being cultivated in the basement of the premises.
Dennis Warner, who is listed as the designated premises supervisor for Bellini, which is operated by Chioggia Ltd, was unavailable for comment last night.
Interested parties can make representations concerning the application to the licensing manager at the borough council before March 18. Council officers will then set down the case for a full hearing before a licensing sub-committee.
Councillors have the power to impose extra conditions on the venue’s licence, suspend the operation or close the restaurant down.
