A KITTEN had to be rescued from the chimney breast of a house in Blackburn after going missing for three days.
Firefighters rescued the kitten, who was just a few weeks old, after it had been exploring behind some pipework in the bathroom and managed to travel behind the wall to a flat two floors down.
Crews from Blackburn fire station attended the house on Leamington Road, Blackburn at 3.30pm as the owners desperately tried to free the kitten who had become stuck behind the chimney breast.
Firefighter Ally O'Donald had to use a hammer and chisel to free a brick from the wall to be able to reach in and free the kitten.
