FIRE crews were dealing with a serious blaze at a car repair workshop in Darwen this morning.
Two crews from Darwen, two from Blackburn and one from Hyndburn were alerted to the blaze on the Marsh House Industrial Estate in Marsh House Lane at around 10am.

Two aerial ladders from Hyndburn and Preston were also sent to the scene to spray water over the top of the fire and to assess its scale.
Firefighters also reported gas and propane cylinders and a tank of used motor oil on the premises but there is not thought to be a risk of explosion.

A fire spokesperson said: “The fire in Darwen is out and there were no casualties.
“The waste oil was prevented from going into drains, water courses and streams.
“A big tank of used engine oil on site ruptured and was prevented from leaking into any streams or water and prevented from causing an environmental issue.”
