Local Bury Accountants and Business Advisers, Horsfield & Smith, hosted a Christmas Charity Coffee Morning in December at their offices on Walmersley Road, where guests were asked to attend wearing Christmas fancy dress – there was an array of elf hats, reindeer antlers, Christmas ties, and even full Christmas costumes!

Local businesses generously donated raffle prizes, amongst those being Marks & Spencer, Lancashire Cricket Club, Pilot Mill, Slatterys, Hearth of the Ram, Red Hall Hotel, Fusiliers Museum, to name but a few. Guests had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets and our VIP, Annabelle Griffin, made an appearance in time to draw the raffle!

Jane Hawarden, Marketing Manager at Horsfield & Smith said “our boardroom was full of clients and local businesses and there was a wonderful community atmosphere. We raised a staggering £900 for Annabelle’s Challenge and we would like to thank all those who attended and supported our event”

Jared Griffin, Annabelle Griffin’s father commented “The coffee morning was a huge success, it was amazing to see our local community come together in support of our charity and we are grateful for the hard work by Jane and the team at Horsfield & Smith”

The amount raised will go towards supporting patients and families affected by vascular EDS, the most serious variation of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) which causes a weakening of the collagen in the tissues of the body and makes sufferers prone to spontaneous rupture of the organs or arteries.

Jared added “As a Bury family we are delighted to be the official partner charity of Bury FC and alongside our accountants are extremely grateful for their support in helping to raise awareness and funds for Annabelle’s Challenge”.
