Pair facing child neglect charge

A MAN and woman from Blackburn have appeared before a judge charged with child neglect after a three-month-old baby was taken to hospital with fractures to his legs and ribs.

The 26-year-old man and 25-year-old woman, who can not be named for legal reasons, appeared at Preston Crown Court where Judge Heather Lloyd adjourned the plea and trial preparation hearing for two weeks for disclosure of the child’s medical records. 

The pair will next appear at Preston Crown Court on February 27.

 

Driving ban

CHRISTOPHER John Schofield, 24, of Chatsworth Close, Barrowford, was fined £100 with £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge and has been banned from driving for 23 months after pleadingwhen he pleaded guilty at Blackburn magistrates to driving with excess alcohol.

 

‘Noxious substance’ case for trial

AMIR CHAUDHARY, 38, appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with administering a noxious substance to his wife to cause her grievous bodily harm.

He is also charged with harassing Shahzaib Chaudhary by applying software to her mobile phone to allow retrieval of tracking information and placing video equipment in her bedroom.

Chaudhary, formerly of Dale View, Blackburn, but now living in Edinburgh was sent on bail to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on Monday, March 7.
