Police are appealing for a driver to come forward after a collision left a woman with shattered kneecap.
 
The incident took place on December 3rd 2015 between 5.30pm and 5.45pm, on Greenhead Avenue at the junction with Fountains Avenue in Blackburn.
 
A woman was struck by a car, thought to be a silver Volvo, as she crossed the road while out walking with her teenaged daughter.

As a result of the collision the woman’s kneecap was shattered in three places and she later required an operation.
 
The male driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and offered his details, but was told they were not required.
 
Now police would like to speak to him to help them piece together what happened.
 
PC Emma Lougheed, of Blackburn Police, said: “The driver stopped immediately after the collision and offered his details, but was told they were not needed.
 
“The woman who had been struck was in shock and did not realise the extent of her injuries at the time. 
 
“We would now like to speak to the driver to help us understand what happened, and would urge him to get in touch.”
 
The driver, or anybody with information about the incident, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number 0582 of December 5th, 2015.
