A YOUNG musician said she is 'speechless' after a song she wrote will debut on BBC Radio One after being signed by a global record label.

Grace Davies, 19, from Langho, will have her song 'Drop That' played on national radio after it was signed by Sony Music Entertainment and Get Twisted Records.

The former Clitheroe Royal Grammar pupil said she was contacted by 'DJ Litek' after he heard the singer on SoundCloud.

The DJ asked her to collaborate on a song he had produced and the former and St Mary's College student wrote the lyrics and recorded them in her bedroom.

The song was well received and was signed by the two record labels, shortly after a deal was made for the song to be released on one of the biggest radio stations in the country.

The talented musician, who released her first EP My Kingdom last year said she can not believe where the song has gone.

She said: "It's absolutely amazing to see the song has been signed by the record companies.

"I wrote the lyrics and recorded them in my bedroom and now it's going to be played on the radio, it's unbelievable.

"Litek sent me the backing track and it sounded really good, he's done a really great job with it."

The full-time singer who used to gig every Friday at Angles Restaurant in Longridge, saw success last year when her cover of 'Hello' by Adele went viral, reaching almost 11 million views on SoundCloud.

The track to date has now had 26.6million views.

Grace, who lives with mum Cheryl, 53, and dad, Bill, 57, said: "It is completely different to my normal singing voice.

"It's quite a dancey track and I don't usually sing in that way, but I found writing the song was really fun and not as hard as I thought it was going to be.

"I've had to keep it quite for so long but now I'm so happy I can tell everyone.

"It's been a big few months so far and I hope it's a good sign for things to come."

The date has not been confirmed for when the song will be played on the radio.
