SIX vehicles were involved in a crash on the M65 this morning.

The incident happened westbound between junction 4 and junction 3 at around 7.15am.

Police said four vehicles came to a stop in the outside lane and there were also two others on the hard shoulder.

There were no serious injuries.

Police said a silver Volkswagen golf and a Ford Transit van were amongst the vehicles involved.

A police spokesman said: "The accident affected the live lane and hard shoulder.

"All the people have got out okay, which is fortunate. 

"It doesn't seem like there were any serious injuries and we are trying to shift the debris as quick as possible."

The incident has caused major delays for morning commuters.
