Four before court
FOUR people have appeared before Blackburn magistrates after an incident outside Blackburn College in October. Maddison Rae Gent, 18, and Daniel Leah, 24, both of Benson Street, and two girls aged 17 and 16 are all charged with affray and assault. They were sent on bail to crown court. Preston Crown Court.
Man is on bail
KYLE Anthony Perry, 21, of Shear Brow, Blackburn, was remanded on bail until March 18 when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates.
Perry pleading not guilty to breaching a criminal behaviour order by causing a nuisance at Royal Blackburn Hospital when he appeared before the bench.
Coffee theft
A 23-YEAR-OLD man stole four jars of coffee to sell to buy food.
Blackburn magistrates heard Dane Bleasdale was subject to a prison licence at the time of the offence. Bleasdale, of the Islington Motel, Great Bolton Street, Blackburn admitted stealing from B & M Bargains. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail suspended for 12 months and must pay an £80 surcharge.
Man admits Boots theft
A MAN filled his jacket with cosmetics, toiletries and fragrances worth nearly £700 and tried to leave without paying.
Blackburn magistrates heard Mohammed Shakil Khan, 40, waas challenged outside Boots but was detained by security staff.
Mohammed Shakil Khan, 40, of Conway Avenue, Blackburn, appeared before Blackburn Magistrates and admitted theft from Boots and theft of cod liver oil tablets from Morrisons. He was made subject to community supervision for 18 months, a 14 day rehabilitation requirement and drug rehabilitation. He has to pay £22 compensation, a £50 fine and £60 victim surcharge.
Thief in court
A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates and admitted burglary with intent to steal at a Rishton printing firm.
Marley Pearson, 18, of no fixed address, also admitted burglary at Mega Discount Stores, Northgate, Blackburn, going equipped for theft, stealing headphones and theft from motor vehicles. He was remanded in custody until January 28.
