MICROCHIPPING will be compulsory for all dog owners in England from April and Hyndburn Council and the Dog's Trust have organised a free session in Great Harwood.
The session will be on Wednesday, January 27 at the Town Hall square from 11am to 3pm and there will be no need to book.
A tiny microchip will be inserted under animal's skin, which gives the pet a unique code which can be scanned and matched to the owner's contact details.
Cllr Paul Cox, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services and Deputy Leader of the Council said: “The law is changing and from 6th April micro chipping will be compulsory for all dog owners in England, so why not get ahead of the game and bring your dog along to a micro chipping session.”
