ALL Stars lived up to their name after they won the Seths Bathrooms Blackburn and District Amateur Cricket League Division One title.

The champions were honoured - alongside other cup winners and individual performers - at the league’s annual presentation evening.

It was a thrilling finale to the league campaign with the All Stars denying double cup winners Blackburn Eagles the title.

KQF Bharuch overcame Blackburn CC to take the B Division crown and the side also picked-up the best batter and best bowler awards.

Ian Pinder, who first played in the league back in 1969, was honoured with the chairman’s award. He has also volunteered with the league in various roles over the past 40 years.

The league also celebrated it’s 120th anniversary this year.

Chairman Zahur Waghat, who hosted the evening and was presented with the Services and Merit Award said: “The standard of cricket played was very high with many outstanding team and individual performances.

“This event recognises and rewards those performances.

“Well done to all our winners. I look forward to similar impressive performances next year.

“I would also like to thank all the teams, players and officials, for making this another very successful season, also our sponsors, Sheths Bathrooms and Star Tissue Uk Ltd, for their continued support.”
