A 21-YEAR-old man assaulted his partner in an argument over him going out.
And when her mother intervened Ryan Shand assaulted her as well.
Shand, of Lamlash Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Sara Hitchen and Florence Hitchen and possessing cannabis. He was made subject to community supervision for 12 months, ordered to do a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £180 criminal court charge.
Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said Sara Hitchen was making a sandwich when Shand pushed her from behind causing her to bang her head against the wall. He slapped her and then grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against the kitchen door.
“Mum tried to intervene and she was pushed away,” said Miss Akhtar.
Richard Taylor, defending, said his client did not accept grabbing his partner by the throat.“Both the aggrieved have tried to retract their statements.”
