Yesterday Mr Robinson told the Lancashire Telegraph he had spent months in Syria with Kurdish rebels, fighting ISIS.

He was arrested at Manchester Airport as he arrived on an Easyjet flight from Amsterdam.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest after he broke the conditions of a suspended sentence in July for assaulting a man in Great Harwood.

Speaking from Holland, he told the Telegraph he wanted to return home ‘for a break’ because he missed his family.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said he had been taken into police custody for questioning by anti-terrorism officers.

An investigation into this matter is ongoing.
