DARWEN residents are being warned of a postcode lottery scam in the area.
A letter pretending to be from the official organisation claims that the holder has won £825,000 and all they need to do is ring the given number and pay a releasing fee and the money will be put into a chosen bank account.

The letters are likely to be printed on cheap paper and contain grammatical errors.
The letter says the head office for the People’s Postcode Lottery is in Edinburgh, although the real office is based in London.
Anyone with a letter like this is advised to destroy it.
