JOHN Coleman says he would love to see Kal Naismith back to his best, just not against Accrington Stanley.

The winger is on loan from Portsmouth with Hartlepool United and returns to face the Reds tonight.

Naismith left the club last summer, seeking a fresh start after the death of his long-term girlfriend, Ashley Dickson.

The 23-year-old has made a temporary move to the north east to get first-team football, after making just two starts for Pompey, and Coleman said: “I’d love to see Kal do well. He’s a great kid.

“What happened to him last year was obviously tragic, but he’s a smashing personality and a good footballer and apart from when he plays against us I hope he does really well.

“It might be strange for him coming back here.

“I know myself from going back to places you tend to gravitate towards the wrong dressing room!

“It’ll be nice for him I think because I think he’ll get a good reception from our fans as I think they appreciate that he’s a good footballer.”
