Remanded on bail

BEN Martindale, 23, of Suffolk Street, Blackburn, was remanded on bail by magistrates after a not guilty plea to failing to stop after an accident in Marlton Road.

 

ABH charge

PETER Francis Raglan, 29, of Fielding Crescent, Blackburn, was bailed by magistrates to Preston Crown Court charged with assaulting Michael Baldwin causing him actual bodily harm.

 

Driving denial

WAZEER Mohammed, 36, of Romney Walk, Blackburn, was remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates after pleading not guilty to driving carelessly in Walter Street, Blackburn.

 

Trio deny charges

NAZIR Ahmed, 23, of Furness Avenue; Bilawal Jamil, 24, of Lilac Road; and Shahzaab Malik, 19, of Whalley New Road, all Blackburn, were remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates after pleading not guilty to the charge of possessing a controlled drug, in this case cannabis.

 

Man admits torching van

AN arsonist who torched a van in Nelson has been given a community sentence by magistrates.

Shaun Aspin, 27, admitted setting fire to a Ford Transit van belonging to Arts Media Services Ltd, causing damage totalling £3,000.

He must complete 30 days of specified activities ordered by the probation service before November 2016.

Aspin, of Alexander Street, Nelson, was ordered to pay £3,000 compensation and a £180 criminal courts charge.

 

Shop armed robbery case

A MAN has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with a knifepoint robbery at the Co-op store in Oswaldtwistle on October 11.

Daniel Malcolm Devlin, 28, of Lytham St Annes, was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court charged with robbing Rick Austin of £120.

 

Knife denial

SAMUEL Adam Todd, 26, of Spencer Street, Accrington, was remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates after pleading not guilty to possessing a knife in Abbey Street on Saturday, October 31.

 

Man is bailed

RHYCE Ward, 24, of Cloister Drive, Darwen, was remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates after pleading not guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
