A POLICE dog found a man trying to hide in a churchyard after a report two men were attempting to force their way into houses in the Ribble Valley.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and going equipped after response officers from Blackburn, Burnley and Colne were called out to Whalley at 3.40am this morning.

A resident had reported seeing someone trying to get into her house on Clitheroe Road and a suspicious black car in the vicinity.
Response officers and a dog patrol unit went to the scene and were guided by staff in one of the police's CCTV rooms.
One man was found in the churchyard and the another man was arrested trying to return to an abandoned black car.
Both men, who are aged 31 and 22 and from the Pendle area, remain in police custody.
