FIRE raged across several miles of Darwen moors - for the second time in two weeks.
Fire crews were called to a moorland off the A675, Belmont Road around 5pm yesterday.
Flames soon spread and ten crews were called to the scene including five from Greater Manchester and pumps from Chorley, Darwen, Blackburn and Bamber Bridge.
As the blaze took hold the A675 between Belmont and Abbey Village was closed for almost two hours.
As hoses could not stretch up to the moors, crews used beaters.
Firefighters said the lack of "April showers" meant the moors were very dry.
The fire comes just 12 days after the last blaze in the same location which destroyed 10 square miles of moorland.
