THE Blackburn town centre branch of McDonald's is currently closed as the restaurant undergoes an extensive refit.

The long-established branch on King William Street is being completely refitted to be among the most modern of the global firm’s restaurants.

The Blackburn restaurant will be given a high-tech makeover and will feature innovative self-service ordering kiosks, digital menu boards and tables with Samsung tablets built in for customers to enjoy.

The redesign also includes McDonald’s signature style with a modern interior and exterior design, new seating and free Wi-Fi.

It is set to re-open on Wednesday, October 14 with an official family day and grand opening set for Saturday, October 24.
