A COMPANY that provides software to nurseries has won a prestigious award six months after launching a new app.

Burnley-based Connect Childcare has been named in the staff resources category at the Nursery World Awards.

The business specialises in creating management software for nurseries to ‘ease the administrative burden’ on staff and help nurseries to have a more involved relationship with parents.

The team from Connect Childcare, based on LIverpool Road, was presented with the award at the Brewery in London after they impressed judges with their ParentZone and iConnect software.

ParentZone is an app which aims to allow parents to interact with nursery staff.

Using the app parents can view their children’s achievements and activities at the nursery, offering them a Facebook-style timeline.

The app allows parents to keep track of their children’s achievements and progress at any time of day and from anywhere they may be.

It integrates with the company’s iConnect software which allows nursery staff to complete their administration tasks more easily Connect Childcare chief executive Chris Reid said: “We are delighted that our contribution to innovation in the childcare sector has been recognised by the judges, particularly in a record-breaking year for entries.

“ParentZone and iConnect really do have the potential to revolutionise the nursery industry.

“The technology now saves staff valuable time and brings them closer to the parents of the children in their care at the nursery.

“We are looking forward to continuing to develop these technologies to help nurseries operate even more efficiently,” he went on to say “In addition to our own success at the awards ceremony, we were delighted that a number of our satisfied iConnect and ParentZone customers also received recognition including Kiddi Caru, The Co-operative Childcare and Toad Hall.”
