A 78-YEAR-OLD motorist was injured during a suspected road rage incident just outside Padiham.
Shocked drivers looked on as the senior citizen was punched in the face after a collision between a Seat and a 4x4 on the Padiham bypass, just before 1pm yesterday.

Paramedics treated the OAP at the scene and he was then taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
An investigation is underway into the circumstances leading up to the collision and assault.
One eyewitness said: “There were a number of motorists around who saw what happened and people were left in shock.”
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We were called at around 12.50pm on Thursday to reports of an assault on Whalley Road, near the junction of the A6068 and the A671.
“It appears to have followed a minor collision between two vehicles, following which a 78-year-old man has been assaulted. It is thought he was punched in the face.
“No-one has been arrested as a result of the incident.”
