AN unexplained drive in his brother-in-law’s car proved costly for a 25-year-old Accrington man.

Blackburn magistrates heard Joseff Russzo was stopped and failed a breathalyser which cost him over £750 hen he appeared in court.

Russzo, 25, of Willows Lane, Accrington, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence.

He also admitted failing to surrender to bail and was fined £500 and ordered to pay £155 criminal court charge, £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.

He was banned from driving for 16 months.

Richard Prew, defending, said his client could offer no explanation for why he had gone out in the car in the early hours of the morning.“He has never passed a driving test either in Hungary or England where he has lived for just over 12 months,” said Mr Prew.
